Joint forces arrested four members of a family along with a large quantity of drugs at Bijoynagar upazila in
Brahmanbaria district early Thursday.
The arrested individuals are Rubi Alamgir Bhuya, 53, wife of Alamgir Bhuya and her three sons Sani Bhuya, 24; Sami Bhuya, 17 and Siam Bhuya. They are residents of Bishnopur village in the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of joint forces conducted a raid in the area and arrested them from their home. During the operation, the law enforcement officers recovered 525 bottles of Phensedyl, 600 grams of hemp, 745 bottles Scof syrup, two local machetes, one smartphone, 2290 Indian Rupee and two passports from their possessions.
They were later handed over to the Bijoynagar Police Station.
Sahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bijoynagar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
A case has been filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act, the OC added.
