Missing youth's body recovered from river in Netrakona

The body of a tribal youth, who went missing while fishing in the Someswari river at Durgapur upazila in Netrakona district, was recovered on Thursday.

The dead was Ruel Richhil, 28, son of Anut Sangma, of Dahapara village of the upazila.
According to locals, Ruel went fishing in Farangpara Battala Zero Point area on Tuesday afternoon. While fishing in the river with three friends, Ruel fell into the sand pit. Hearing his screams, his friends tried to rescue him, but they also fell into the pit. At that time, Alamin, a local resident, could not save Ruel but could bring a boat to rescue the three people.

Durgapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Saiful Islam confirmed it.
