Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Mahfuj Alam on Tuesday said the interim government is committed to ensuring the safe and joyful celebration of religious festivals for all minority communities in the country.
"No conspirators, at home or abroad, will be given any space to create trouble. This is our commitment. And we seek your cooperation in fulfilling it," he said at a press briefing at Dhakeshwari National Temple after inspecting the preparations for Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.
Alam stated that community leaders, political party members who have engaged in dialogues with the government, students, and all who believe in the country's sovereignty and independence will remain vigilant to ensure the minorities can celebrate Durga Puja, Buddha Prabarana Purnima, Kothin Chibor Dan, and other festivals smoothly, safely, and joyfully.
He mentioned that Chief Adviser Professor Yunus had held meetings with religious leaders of the Hindu community over the last two months to discuss how their demands could be met, as the previous government had taken no initiative to address their legitimate demands over the past 15 years.
The special assistant added that the interim government is working closely with minority communities and continuing dialogues with them. The government is positively inclined to meet their reasonable demands, he said.
