A member of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, who was stabbed by some Chhatra League leaders and activists in Narsingdi on September 28, died at a hospital in Dhaka on Monday.
The deceased was Junayed Al Habib, 22, son of Md Jashim Uddin, a resident of Botiara area at Raipura upazila. He was a student of a local college.
On September 28, some BCL leaders and activists stabbed Junayed in Botiara intersection, leaving him critically injured. He was then sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). As condition deteriorated at noon on Monday (October 7), doctors advised him to shift ICU of any other private hospitals as there were no ICU bed free at DMCH.
Junayed succumbed to his injuries in the evening after taken to a private hospital.
His family claimed that BCL killed Junayed as he took part in the Quota Reform Movement.
Junayed's uncle Md Shafiq filed a case on September 30 against 14 people over the incident. Police, however, arrested one.
