Taposhee Tabassum Urmi, Assistant Commissioner at the Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner's Office, has been dismissed after  a day she was made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) following her suspension from service.

Earlier on Sunday, she was made an OSD through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.

According to Public Administration Ministry Public Relations Officer Mansur Hossain, Urmi has been suspended, and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against her. However, no specific reason for the disciplinary action was mentioned in the ministry's notice.

Ministry sources revealed that Assistant Commissioner Taposhee Tabassum Urmi recently made a social media post protesting a remark by Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus. On Saturday, Taposhee posted on Facebook, stating: "The Chief Adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government has said a reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He has removed all history of the country by clicking the reset button. Is it so simple! The countdown has begun for you (Yunus), Sir."

In response, Taposhee told the media, "I made the post, and that's enough. I posted it on my own. Transfers can happen for various reasons, and I don't wish to comment further on this matter."

She added, "I deleted the post. There was no pressure from higher authorities regarding the Facebook post."

Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Hayder remarked that such statements by a government official were a clear violation of the code of conduct.

Urmi joined the Lalmonirhat District Administration as an Assistant Commissioner on 8 December 2022.
