3 bodies recovered in Laxmipur

Police have recovered the bodies of three individuals relating to separate incidents in Laxmipur on Monday.

Among the deceased, two were identified as Repa Akter, 27,  wife of an expatriate Shamim Hossain, Jahid Hossain, 22, son of late Mohammad Yunus from Nandigram while the identities of the another, aged around 40, could not be known immediately.
In the first case, the body of the unidentified man was found near a fish pond in Laharkandi area of Sadar upazila. According to the police's preliminary report, the deceased had a dark complexion and was wearing a lungi, T-shirt, and vest. As of now, the police have been unable to identify the individual.

In a separate incident, police recovered the body of Repa Akter from a rented apartment on the sixth floor of Bishmillah Tower in ward No. 6 of the district. Local sources alleged that Repa took her own life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan after her alleged extramarital affair became known to her family. Repa and Shamim, who has been working in France, have two daughters aged 10 and 5. According to the landlord, Repa's parents were present in the house on the day of the incident.

The investigation officer SI Anisur Rahman confirmed the recovery of both bodies. 

In another incident, police from the Poudharbazar Outpost discovered the body of Jahid Hossain from his residence in Nandigram. According to police official Mominul Islam, Jahid allegedly committed suicide after having a disagreement with his mother over money for drugs.

The autopsies for all three bodies were completed at Laxmipur General Hospital morgue in the evening, as confirmed by the residential medical officer, Dr. Arup Chandra Pal. 

Following these incidents, separate unnatural death cases have been filed at Laxmipur Model Police Station and Poudharbazar Police Outpost. 

Police officials have added that the actual details of the incidents will be revealed upon completion of the investigations.
