Housewife 'murdered by in-laws' in Pirojpur

A housewife was allegedly killed by her in-laws in Pirojpur Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The incident took place at Shikarpur area under ward No. 4 in Pirojpur municipality.
Kalidas Biswas, father of the victim Nupur Rani, 35, filed a complaint with Pirojpur Sadar Police Station on Sunday. 

Pirojpur Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Md. Sobhan Hossain confirmed the filling of the complaint.

According to the complaint, Nupur Rani, from Chikitibari village in Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj, was married to Haridas Kund. Thirteen days ago, Nupur gave birth to a baby girl. Early on Sunday, Nupur's father received a call from her in-laws, informing him of her illness. 

Upon receiving the news, the father rushed there and took Nupur to Pirojpur General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Kalidas Biswas alleged, "My daughter was killed in a planned manner, and I was informed of her illness afterward. I demand justice for her death."

OC Md. Sobhan Hossain said that police have recovered the body from the scene. However, there were no visible injury marks on the body. 

Based on the father's complaint, the body has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action will be taken once the cause of death is confirmed, added the OC.
