Two cousins drown in Thakurgaon

Two cousins drowned in a pond at Pirganj upazila in Thakurgaon district on Sunday.

The incident took place at Bhomradah union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Md Rafiat, 4, son of Delwar from Kusharigaon village, and Safa Akter, 3, daughter of Sumon Islam, from the same village.

According to the family members, the duo was playing in the yard of the house. After sensing their absence, they started searching for them and found their bodies floating in the waterbody.

Pirganj Police Station officer-in-charge Khairul Anam Don confirmed the death, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
