Fisherman killed in lightning strike in Laxmipur

A fisherman died from a lightning strike at Ramgati upazila in Lazmipur district on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened in Balurchar area in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Khabir, a resident of Alekjandar Jonota bazar area in the upazila.

It was learnt that a streak of lightning struck on Kabir while he along with other fishermen catching fish in the Meghna river, leaving him dead on the spot.

Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Ramgati Police Station, confirmed the matter.
