"The Malaysian prime minister left Dhaka at about 7:00pm," Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam told BSS.
Anwar Ibrahim arrived in the city this afternoon on an official visit at the invitation of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

On his arrival around 2.00 pm, the Malaysian premier was received by the Chief Adviser at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) where he was given a guard of honour.

The Malaysian Prime Minister led a 58-member delegation comprising ministers, members of parliaments (MPs) and a high-profile trade delegation to Bangladesh.

During his brief visit to Dhaka, he joined a one-to-one meeting with Chief Adviser Prof Yunus at Hazral Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).

Then he was directly taken to Hotel InterContinental from the airport where he spent a couple of hours.

Anwar Ibrahim also joined a bilateral talk with Prof Yunus and spoke at a joint press appearance at the hotel.

The Malaysian premier also met President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban and signed the visitor's book there.

It was the first high-level visit by a head of government of any foreign country since the interim government, led by Prof Muhammad Yunus, assumed office after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
