Two tourists reportedly drowned while bathing on Rupsi Jharna, a waterfall at Mirsarai in Chattogram on Friday.
The bodies of the duo, whose identities are yet to be ascertained, were recovered around 1 PM.
Confirming the matter, Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence station officer Imam Hossain Patwari said a search and rescue team from the station retrieved the bodies in the afternoon.
According to eyewitnesses, the two individuals had been visiting the waterfall but tragically drowned, prompting a rescue operation by the fire service.
Imam stated that the diving team began their search at approximately 11 AM, after receiving the report of the missing tourists. The bodies were recovered two hours later.
