A four-year-old child after falling into septic tank at Hathazari upazila in Chittagong district on Thursday evening.
The incident happened at North Mozaffarpur village under Mekhal union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah, son of Rani, hailed from Chapainawabganj district. The family used to live in a rented house in the area.
Sourceses said Abdullah went out from his room when his parents were busy other works. Sensing his absence, family members started searching him and found him floating condition in a septic tank next to their house.
The child was rescued and taken to a local hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Imran, sub-inspector of Hathazari Model Police Station, confirmed the matter.
