Army Chief Gen Walker visits Rangpur area

Chief of Army Staff Gen Waker-Uz Zaman visited Rangpur area on Thursday.

During the visit, he inspected various training activities of 66th Infantry Division and Rangpur area. He also addressed officers, JCOs and other ranks of the army working in the cantonment, according to ISPR. 

In his opening remarks, he offered prayers for the martyrdom of Lt Tanjiim Sarwar Nirjan and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

He emphasized that the brave sacrifice of this young officer in service to the motherland would be deeply honoured by the Bangladesh Army.

Gen Waker then shed light on the current security situation in the country and offered various directives regarding the army operation.

Apart from General Officer Commanding (GOC)  of the 66th Infantry Division, senior officers of Army Headquarters and other army officers of Rangpur Cantonment were also present at the programme.
