Dr Vijay Prakash joins BIFPCL as its new MD

Dr Vijay Prakash joined as Managing Director (MD) of Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (BIFPCL) on Tuesday.

According to BIFPCL, prior to joining this position, he was serving as Executive Director (Safety, Sustainable Development, Environment and Ash Utilization) at NTPC Limited, India.

Dr Vijay Prakash was born in 1966 in India. He completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from the University of Gorakhpur, India.

He obtained Master of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur in Civil Engineering. Further to enrich his academic career he obtained PhD from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. Dr. Vijay enriched obtained another Degree in Master of Social Work from the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.
He joined NTPC in 1989 through campus recruitment from IT, Kanpur.

He has served in NTPC for more than 35 years in various functions including Project Planning & Formulation, Regulatory Clearances, Environment and Sustainability, Ash Utilization, Safety etc. and held various positions including recent position as Executive Director.
