3 die, 1,114 more hospitalised with dengue

Three more people have died of dengue while 1,114 more patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across the country in the past 24 hours.

The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 461 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Tuesday morning.

In addition, 232 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 35 in the Mymensingh Division, 144 in the Chattogram Division, 81 in the Khulna Division, 33 in the Rajshahi Division, 47 in the Rangpur Division, 99 in the Barishal Division, and 12 in the Sylhet Division.

With the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 32,082 this year. A total of 166 people died among them.

As many as 3,945 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. They include 1,736 in the capital and 1,759 outside Dhaka.    —bdnews24.com
