Housewife dies of snake bite in Jhenidah

A housewife died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Jhenidah's Kaliganj upazila early Tuesday.

The dead was Sheuli Das, 28, wife of Liton Das, a resident of Chhoto Raigram under the upazila.
According her relatives, a venomous snake bit the woman, a mother of two children, while she was sleeping on the balcony of their house around 2 am on Monday. Then the family members called a local Ojha for treatment.

Later, when her condition worsened, she was taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Kaliganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Azif confirmed it.
