Ex-home minister's son Jyoti remanded in murder case

Safi Muddaser Khan Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, has been placed on a three-day remand in a case filed over the killing of garment worker Ashraful Islam in Ashulia area.

Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Rabeya Begum passed the order on Sunday as police produced Jyoti before the court and sought seven-day remand in the case.

Earlier, on September 14, Jyoti was arrested from Uttara and was placed on four-day remand in an attempt to murder case filed with the Ashulia Police Station.

On September 11, a private university student Md Rabius Sunny filed the case with Ashulia Thana alleging Jyoti along with other accused of the case for attempting to kill him.
