Two more patients died of dengue while 321 more were hospitalised in last 24 hours till Friday.
Among the deceased, one of them resided in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) while the another was in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the fatalities, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 143 this year.
Among the patients, 231 cases were recorded in the capital which is 71.96 per cent of the total dengue patients on Friday. 88 people were affected in DNCC, 78 in DSCC and 65 in Dhaka Division, barring the two city corporations.
28 dengue patients were hospitalised in Rajshahi, 22 in Mymensingh, 19 in Chattogram, 15 in Khulna and six in Barishal.
58.6 per cent of the Friday dengue patients are male.
Although men are more prone to dengue, the death records indicate that women have experienced a higher fatality rate this year, with 52.4 per cent of the total deceased being female.
However, at least 1,118 patients were discharged from hospitals yesterday.
In September alone, at least 60 dengue patients died, which is double the second-highest death toll recorded in August this year.
