Pedestrian dies in wall collapse at Gendaria

A pedestrian died after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed on him at Gendaria of the capital on Thursday afternoon.

The man was Md Rasel, 35, an employee of a medicine shop in Mitford hospital area.

Locals said that Rasel was passing by an under construction building in Keranibari Bhattikhana area around 2PM and suddenly the wall of the ground floor collapsed on him. He was trapped under the rubble.

They promptly rescued Rasel and took him to a nearby hospital. As his condition deteriorated, Rasel was shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead around 3:30PM.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
