The Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Bangladesh Ministry of Industry discussed strategies for short-term and mid-term solutions aimed at boosting industrial growth.

The discussion took place when at a meeting between a FICCI delegation led by its President Zaved Akhtar and Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Industries, at his office on Monday. The meeting centered on collaborative approaches to tackle industrial challenges in Bangladesh.

During the discussions, both the delegation and the adviser discussed key topics including intellectual property rights, trademarks, and other pressing industrial issues.

The FICCI delegation proposed establishing a single IP office to handle all IP-related issues, including copyright, trademark, patent design, and geographical indications (GI).

Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan praised FICCI for its proactive stance in addressing sectoral issues. He highlighted the importance of private sector involvement to optimize the use of government industrial parks and called for strong cooperation to foster the growth of Bangladesh's industrial sector.

The meeting was attended by Industries Ministry Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana, other high-ranking officials from the ministry, and members of the FICCI Board of Directors: Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, Sumitava Basu, and Executive Director T.I.M. Nurul Kabir, says a press release.
