Farmer killed in Bagerhat road accident

The accident occurred on Tuesday morning around 8 AM in Kathaltala area of the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Md. Hormuz Gazi, 65, a resident of Purba Khontakata village under nearby Sharankhola upazila. Meanwhile, the injured are Masum Gazi and a motorbike driver, Anwar Hossain.

According to locals, Hormuz was riding on a hired motorbike which driver lost control over the steering and hit a pedestrian woman first and then crashed into a roadside tree. Hormuz died on the spot and the motorbike driver was critically injured.

Morelganj Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Shamsuddin confirmed that the police visited the scene, and no formal complaint has been lodged yet.
