Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will have a meeting with the United Nations (UN) Secretary General António Guterres in New York on September 26.
On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the meeting will be held at the UN Secretariat at 02:15 pm (New York time), according to the programme schedule of the chief adviser.
The chief adviser will also have a bilateral meeting with US President Joseph R Biden on Tuesday (September 24), reports BSS.
Prof Yunus will hold bilateral talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on September 24 while Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma on September 25 and Netherlands Prime Minister Dick Schoof on September 26 as well.
Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi, President of the European Commission Ursula Von der Leyen, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, US Secretary of State Antony J Blinken, UN Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS Rabab Fatima, Commissioner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, Director General of the International Labour Organization Gilbert F Houngbo, President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga, UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner and USAID Administrator Samantha Power will call on Prof Yunus during his stay in New York.
The chief advisor arrived here on Monday to attend the UNGA 79th session as a commercial flight of Qatar Airways carrying him and his entourage members landed at the JKF International Airport, New York, at 10:10 pm (NY time).
Earlier, the flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5.05 am in Dhaka (Bangladesh time) on the day.
On September 24, Prof Yunus will join the inaugural session of the 79th UNGA (opening of the high-level week) at the UN headquarters.
He is scheduled to deliver his speech at the UNGA session at 10 am (NY time) on September 27.
