Shuchita Sharmin appointed as first female VC of Barishal University

Shuchita Sharmin, a professor of Development Studies Department at Dhaka University, has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Barishal University for the next four years.

A letter regarding her appointment was issued on Monday.

Her tenure as VC will be four years from the date of joining and she will get pay and allowances equivalent to her present post, the letter mentioned. She will enjoy other benefits pertaining to the post as per the rules.

Meanwhile, Shuchita Sharmin is the fifth VC of the university and the first woman to hold the post.
