Death row convict arrested in Kishoreganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday arrested Shah Alam, a death row convict who fled from Kashimpur High Security Central Jail in Gazipur on August 6, from Kishoreganj Sadar.

"We arrested Shah Alam, who was sentenced to death in a case filed over raping a three-year-old minor child from Kishoreganj Sadar this morning" Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) legal and media wing director Lt Col Md Munim Ferdous told the news agency.

Ferdous said the RAB are in hot pursuit to arrest the death row and life term awarded convicts, who fled from various jails in recent attempts of prison break.    —BSS
