Two members of Chittagong Metropolitan unit Juba Dal expelled from the organisation following a clash between two of its factions on Friday evening that left one activist dead.
The committee of Chittagong Metropolitan unit Juba Dal has also been dissolved.
Nurul Islam Sohel, office secretary of the Central Executive Committee of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, made this announcement through a circular on Friday night.
The circular said the committee was dissolved due to the expiration of its term, and a new committee will be formed soon.
The leaders of both factions -- Mosharraf Hossain, joint general secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan Juba Dal, and Nurul Amin, agriculture affairs secretary of the unit, were expelled from the organisation, for breaching party discipline, it said.
The both leaders were removed from all party positions, including their primary memberships.
The decision was implemented by Jatiyatabadi JubaDal Central Executive Committee President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, the circular reads.
Meanwhile, on Friday afternoon, activists of two factions of Juba Dal locked into deadly clash at Old Chandgaon of the port city over establishing supremacy in the area.
During that time Zubair Uddin Babu, 25, a supporter of joint secretary Mosharaf Hossain, alias Choto Mosharaf, was stabbed critically.
Later, he was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
