Joint forces in raids detained five individuals suspected of being involved in vandalism, attacks, and creating unrest in the readymade garment (RMG) sector in Ashulia.
The arrestees were identified as Md Habib Khan, 31, son of Lebu Khan of Dhamrai; Md Alkas Molla, 36, son of Late Durjan Molla of Ashulia; Azaharul Islam, 42, son of Later Mahibur Rahman alias Mohiuddin; Rasel Talukder, 35, son of Late Sona Mia Talukder; and Md Majidul Islam, 28, son of Mojidul Islam of Hariabhanga of Lalmonirhat district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia police station Mohammad Abu Bakar Siddique said that they were arrested from different areas of Ashulia on Friday night. Later, police produced the arrestees before the court on Saturday morning.
The official said the joint forces detained them for their alleged involvement for inciting workers to vandalize factories, block roads, and damage vehicles and infrastructure to destabilize the garment industry.
