Firearms recovered in M’singh, Kushtia, Narayanganj

Firearms were recovered in separate incidents in three districts - Mymensingh, Narayanganj and Kushtia, in three days.

MYMENSINGH: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-14) recovered a foreign pistol, two rounds of bullets and a number of indigenous weapons from Fulbaria and Muktagachha upazilas of the district on Thursday morning.

RAB-14 sources said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force from Mymensingh Camp conducted a drive in Deokhola Bazar of Fulbaria Upazila in the morning, and recovered a foreign pistol and two rounds of ammunition.

In another drive, the RAB members recovered a large number of locally-made weapons from Kumaragata area in Muktagachha Upazila of the district on the same morning.

The recovered arms and ammunition were, later, handed over to the Fulbaria and Muktagachha police stations (PSs) respectively.

DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA: The joint forces have recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine and one round of bullet in a drive in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Wednesday.

It was known that on information, a team of the joint forces conducted a drive in Kalyanpur area of the upazila, and recovered the firearm and the ammunition.

However, no one was arrested in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur PS Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter, adding that a case was filed in this regard.

NARAYANGANJ: Members of RAB, in a drive, recovered a firearm and ammunition, which were looted from Araihzar PS in the district on August 5, in an abandoned state.

However, no one was arrested in this connection.

RAB-11 Media Officer Sanad Barua confirmed the information at a press briefing on Wednesday.

He said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Araihazar, and recovered one shot-gun, 19 rounds of bullets and one handcuff from a bush backside of a building on Tuesday night.

Earlier, on August 5, miscreants carried out attacks in Araihzar PS, vandalized valuables, set fire to the station, and looted the firearms and ammunition.
