The government has appointed new vice-chancellors to three more public universities – Bangladesh Agricultural University, Rabindra University, and Islamic Arabic University.
Separate notifications by the Secondary and Higher Education Division were issued in this regard on Thursday.
Dr AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, a professor in the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has become the new vice-chancellor of the university for the next four years.
Dr SM Hasan Talukder, a professor of the Department of Law at Dhaka University, has been appointed as the vice-chancellor of Rabindra University in Sirajganj.
Dr Md Shamsul Alam has been made the VC of Islamic Arabic University. He is a professor in the Department of Islamic Studies at Dhaka University.
Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on August 5, vice-chancellors of 45 universities resigned from their posts. Among them, some were forced to resign amid the protests.
