The hanging body of a nine-year-old girl was recovered in Madaripur's Dasar upazila on Wednesday.

The dead Meghla was the daughter of Bides Sarkar of Dhabji village under Gopalpur union. She was a third grader at a local primary school.
According to police, Meghla's father found her hanging from the ceiling of her room in the afternoon. She was rescued and taken to Kalkini Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

However, the girl's family initially thought that she might have caused the incident while acting to make a TikTok video.

Meghla's mother cried and said, 'Meghla used to make videos. She opened Tiktok ID.'

Dasar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmud-ul Hasan said police visited the spot. Legal action will be taken in this regard, he added.
