Rohingya youth held with firearm

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in a drive arrested a Rohingya youth along with a firearm and ammunition from Ukhiya upazila in Cox's Bazar district on Wednesday.

Sayed Alam Prakash Abu Sad, 37, was arrested from a tea stall adjacent to sub-block I-14 in Balukhali Rohingya Camp-8 west.
APBn-14 commander Additional DIG Md Iqbal confirmed the matter.

He said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the force conducted a raid in the area and arrested Abu Sad along with a foreign pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

The arrested was handed over to Ukhiya Police Station to take further legal actions, added the APBn official.
