A youth was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on charges of killing his elder brother at Ramu upazila in
Cox's Bazar district on Tuesday.
The arrested is Ali Hossain, 23, a resident of Cheinda village under Mithachari union of the upazila.
RAB-15 media wing confirmed the information on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the RAB sources, the accused Ali Hossain was seen fainting at Cheinda Station after consuming drugs on July 16. Seeing this, the victim and elder brother of the accused Babul Hossain asked Ali to go home which made him enraged.
Later, Ali hacked Babul on the way back to home, leaving him critically injured. The injured was rescued and taken to Cox's Bazar General Hospital where the physicians declared him dead.
Following the incident, a
murder case was filed with Ramu Police Station which led to the arrest.
The sources added that during primary questioning, Ali confessed to his crime and he was then handed over to the police station concerned.
