Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the members of law enforcement agencies who have not joined their duties yet, will not be allowed to join work again.
"Policemen those have not joined their duties yet, will not be allowed to join work. They were involved in misdeeds."
The adviser made these remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of basic training for 40th BCS (Ansar) officers and 25th batch sepoy recruits at the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Gazipur on Wednesday.
Jahangir Alam said those involved in any form of misdeeds within the police force, will not be pardoned under any circumstances.
Meanwhile, a press release issued on Tuesday by the Police Headquarters said that 187 officers remain absent from duty. Among them are one officer of DIG rank, seven additional DIGs, two police superintendents, one additional police superintendent, five assistant superintendents, five inspectors, 14 sub-inspectors and sergeants, nine assistant sub-inspectors, seven naiks, and 136 constables.
