Metro rail operations on the Agargaon-Motijheel section was suspended after 9:40AM on Wednesday (September 18) due to some technical problems.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) director Nasir Uddin Ahmed said, "There is a major problem on that route. It will take time to fix. For now, the train operation will continue through Agargaon-Uttara route."
Commuters, mostly office-goers, were seen waiting for public transport on the road in front of Agargaon Station to reach their destination.
Agargaon to Motijheel section of the metro rail halted service after 9am due to the displacement of a spring in the middle lane of three that runs along the viaduct under the trains at Farmgate station.
When contacted, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd managing director Mohammad Abdur Rauf said, "We have a technical faults which will take about two hours to repair. The repairing has already started."
It will be informed if the train movement on Agargaon-Motijheel
section is normal, the DMTCL said in a post on their official Facebook
page.
