The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed on Monday across the country with due religious fervour and solemnity.
On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.
To mark the Day, different programmes were organized in districts including Gopalganj, Khulna, Natore, Panchagarh and Rajshahi.
GOPALGANJ: On this occasion, the district administration organized different programmes in the town at noon.
A discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's (DC) office in the town.
Newly joined DC Muhammad Qamruzzaman presided over the meeting.
Imam of Court Mosque Maulana Md Hafizur Rahman, Sadar Model Mosque Imam Maulana Abu Obaida, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md Ashraful Haque and Journalist SM Humayun Kabir, among others, were also present at the programme.
Additional DC (ADC) (General) Md Golam Kabir conducted the event.
Besides, a special Munajat and Doa Mahfil were also arranged marking the Day.
KHULNA: Khulna District administration organized different programmes on the occasion of the Day.
The Day's programme began with hoisting of the national flag atop the government, semi-government offices, autonomous building and different armed forces department, units, base and ships.
A discussion meeting and a Doa Mahfil was also held on the life sketch of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the conference room of the DC office in the city.
Newly appointed DC Saiful Islam presided over the discussion meeting while Additional Divisional Commissioner Md Firoz Shah addressed as the chief guest.
Marking the Day, Islamic Foundation arranged a seminar, waaz mahfil, poem recitation and competition of Hamd-Naat, Kwirat, Arabic Khutba and Islamic cultural and quiz competition at Boyra office.
Special Munajat also offered after Johr prayers at all mosques and Hamd-Naat and essay competition was held among children at the Shishu Academy. Improved diet was also served at military and public hospital, orphanages, old-age homes and jail.
Different local dailies were published supplementary highlighting the importance of the Day.
Besides, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) organized a discussion meeting on the life sketch of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the KCC Laskar Tazul Islam presided over the meeting.
Later on, prizes were distributed among the winners of kwerat and quiz competition on the life sketch of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Different educational institutions including Khulna University and Khulna Press Club also organized different programmes marking the Day.
NATORE: In observance of the Day, the district administration organized a discussion on 'Life, Work and Education of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)' in the morning.
The discussion was held in the conference room of the DC office.
Khatib of Kandivita Jame Masjid Hafez Maulana Md Golam Mostafa addressed the function as the key speaker while Acting DC Md Masudur Rahman was in the chair.
Deputy Director of District Unit Islamic Foundation Muhammad Imamul Islam and Natore Press Club President Faraji Ahmad Rafiq Baban, among others, also spoke there.
The speakers said that the Almighty Allah sent Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a mercy to the world. He was exemplary role models in all walks of life. It is possible to achieve peace of mind and establish justice in the society by keeping his philosophy in heart and following it.
Bangladesh Shishu Academy organized an essay and Hamd-Naat competition for children. Distribution of prizes among the winners and Doa Mahfil were also held at the Shishu Academy after the Hamd-Naat competition.
On the occasion, the Islamic Foundation organized a competition of Qiraat, Azan, Hamd-Naat, poetry recitation and essay competition with the participation of students. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners.
PANCHAGARH: In observance of the Day, Ahele Sunnat Owal Jamat in Debiganj Upazila brought out a rally from Bijoy Chattar area which paraded different streets of the town.
A discussion meeting on the 'life and ideals of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)' was held on Central Eidgah ground.
A large number of leaders and workers of Ahele Sunnat Owal Jamat participated at the programme.

RAJSHAHI: To mark the Day, Anjumane Ashrafia Charitable Trust and Sheroil Colony Boro Mosque brought out a religious rally from the mosque premises in the morning.
After parading main thoroughfares of the city, the rally ended at Hazrat Shah Makhdum Dargah followed by offering special prayers for peace of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Besides, the traditional colourful rally 'Jasne Julush' under the auspices of Gausul Azam Gausia, Talime Quran Tamauafi, EskeNabi was brought out from the city's Saheb Bazar area at around 8:30 am on the occasion.
The rally ended at Shah Makhdum Dargah Mosque after parading the main city thoroughfares.
After the rally, a special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Special prayers, Zikir, Doa and Milad Mahfil, discussion, providing food to orphans and destitute and processions to welcome the holy Miladunnabi were the main features of the Day.
The divisional office of the Islamic Foundation and Imam Training Academy jointly organized a discussion highlighting the significance of the Day.
Shishu Academy also organized a Hamd-e-Naat competition for children.
Various educational institutions also organized discussion meetings and Doa Mahfil marking the Day.
Law enforcing agencies adopted tight security measures to make sure the Day's programmes were successful.
Several bamboo-made temporary gates wrapped by long rags with affixing colourful festoons and banners were erected at important road corners and city islands on the occasion.
