Cargo vessel owners body elects new President, GS

Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owners Association has unanimously elected Sayeed Ahmed as the President and elected Engr Mehboob Kabir as the General Secretary (GS) of the organization.

The members of the Executive Committee elected them to the posts at a meeting of the organization at its office in Kakrail in the Capital on Sunday, says a press release. 

There were no other changes in the organization. President of the association Md. Iqbal Hossain called a meeting of the executive committee to resolve the ongoing impasse. 

The meeting was attended by 20 of the 25 members of the Executive Committee. Md Iqbal Hossain resigned from the post. 

Md. Nurul Haq, general secretary had not attended the meeting. His position becomes vacant when the members of the executive committee bring no confidence in him.
