Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is on the brink of achieving a remarkable milestone in Test cricket, needing just eight more wickets to become the fifth player in history to complete the double of 4,000 runs and 250 wickets.
Shakib has already surpassed the 4,000-run mark, accumulating 4,543 runs, while claiming 242 wickets in 69 Test matches.
He is set to join an elite group that includes South Africa's Jacques Kallis, India's Kapil Dev, England's Ian Botham, and New Zealand's Daniel Vettori, who have all achieved the prestigious double.
Kallis, who played 166 Tests, scored 13,289 runs and took 292 wickets, while Kapil Dev had 5,248 runs and 434 wickets in 131 matches. Botham accumulated 5,200 runs and 383 wickets in 102 Tests, and Vettori finished with 4,531 runs and 362 wickets in 113 matches.
