BNP held a rally in Chattogram city marking the International Day of Democracy on Tuesday.
Leaders and activists of BNP started gathering in the area around Jamiatul Falah Mosque from Almas intersection of the city with processions. At that time, the whole area was chanting slogans of leaders and activists.
Leaders of the central and Chattogram divisions spoke on the temporary stage of the rally before the procession at 3 pm on Tuesday. BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed addressed the rally as the chief guest.
According to BNP leaders and activists, BNP leaders and activists came from different upazilas and adjoining districts of Chittagong on the occasion of the procession. Gathered at a particular place, they took out a procession and joined the rally in the Jamiatul Falah Mosque area.
Chaired by Chattogram city BNP convener Ershad Ullah, the rally was addressed, among others, by BNP's Chattogram divisional organising secretary and coordinator of the party's Chattogram divisional procession Mahbubur Rahman Shamim.
