Eid-e-Miladunnabi observed in Khulna

The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed here as elsewhere in the country with due religious fervor and solemnity today.

Khulna district administration organised different programmes marking the day.

A discussion meeting and doa mahfil was held on the life sketch of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) at the deputy commissioner's conference room.

Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam presided over the meeting while additional divisional commissioner Md Firoz Shah addressed it as chief guest.
Marking the day, Islamic Foundation arranged a seminar, waaz mahfil, own poem recitation and competition of Hamd-Naat, Kwirat, Arabic Khutba and Islamic cultural and quiz competition at Boyra office.

Special prayer was offered after Zuhr prayer at all mosques and Hamd-Naat and essay competition was held among children at the Shishu Academy.

Improved diet was served at military and public hospitals, children and orphanage centers, jails and old age homes.

Different local dailies were published supplementary highlighting the importance of the day.

Besides, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) organized a discussion meeting on the life sketch of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Chief executive officer (CEO) of KCC Laskar Tazul Islam presided over the meeting.

Later, prizes were distributed among the winners' students.

Different educational institutions including Khulna University and Khulna Press Club organized different programmes to mark the day.
