3 family members electrocuted in Jhenidah

Three members of a family were electrocuted in Jhenidah's Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

The incident happened at about 10:30AM at Surapara village.

The deceased were identified as Moksed Mollah, 60, his niece Reshma Khatun, 40 and Reshma's mother Hasina Khatun, 55.

According to Fire Service and Civil Defence, a papaya tree fell down on an electric wire behind the house of Moksed Mollah during storm on Sunday night. When Moksed tried to remove the tree from the wire in the morning, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.
Reshma Khatun and Hasina were also electrocuted as they tried to save Moksed. 

Fire Service members with the help of local people took Hasina and Reshman to Sadar Hospital where they were declared dead by the on-duty doctors.
