Journalists Mozammel Babu, Shyamal Dutta arrested while fleeing to India

Journalists Mozammel Haque Babu and Shyamal Dutta have been detained while fleeing to India through Dhobaura border in Mymensingh district illegally.

They are currently at Dobaura Police Station, OC Chan Mia confirmed.

It was learnt that local people caught them from Dobaura border while fleeing to India. Later they were handed over to Dhobaura police.

At around 6:00am on Monday (September 16), the local people waylaid a private car, carrying four people, in the middle of the border between South Maijpara and Porakandulia.
The detained four are Ekattor TV managing director and editor-in-chief Mozammel Haque Babu, Dainik Bhorer Kagoj editor Shyamal Dutta, also the former general secretary of Jatiya Press Club; Ekattor TV's senior reporter Mahbubur Rahman and private car driver Salim.
