With the participation of more than 50 members in eight disciplines, the yearly sports carnival of the Bangladesh Sports Journalist Association (BSJA) is beginning on Tuesday, 17 September at the Bangabandhu National Stadium complex in Dhaka.
The disciplines are Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, Swimming, Shooting, and Call Bridge. Table Tennis, Badminton, and Carrom will be played as both singles and doubles.
Among these, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, and Call Bridge will be played at the BSJA office while shooting will be played at the Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium, and swimming at the Ivy Rahman Swimming Pool. The Badminton events will be played at the Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium at Paltan.
The weeklong event will be played by BSJA members, and the Walton Group will finance the Bangladesh Sports Journalist Association in organising it.
The champions, runners-up, and third-place finishers will all receive a monetary award. The Best of the Carnival Trophy will be awarded to the top performer.
To reveal information on the weeklong event, a press meet was held on Sunday at the conference room of the Dutch-Bangla Bank Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA).
