The Bangladesh Cricket team Sunday reached Chennai, the venue of the first cricket Test against India, the BCB officials confirmed.
The Tigers will start their training session in India Monday to make them better prepared for the Test.
The two-match series opening game starts on September 19. Kanpur will host the second and final Test from September 27, BSS reports.
All of the players and coaching staff sans all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan were in the same flight when Bangladesh landed in Chennai. Shakib will join the side soon from England.
After the historic series sweep against Pakistan, Shakib went to England for his County stint with Surrey. He played a County Championship match against Somerset and took nine wickets but failed to do anything worthy with the willow.
“Even though Shakib didn’t play any good innings with the willow, he bowled well. Overall he took a good preparation for the India series. Hopefully he will do well in India,” captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said about Shakib ahead of leaving Bangladesh.
