Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended mixed while and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) declined Sunday as investors traded cautiously ahead of earnings disclosures of June closing companies.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE decreased 14.74 points to settle at 5,711.77. The blue-chip DS30 index, a group of 30 prominent companies, rose 15.22 points to 2085.53, while, the DSES index, which represents Shariah-based companies, gained 1.0 points to 1,246.68.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Tk 6.69 billion, down 8.79 per cent from the previous trading day.
The majority of the stocks saw a price decrease, as out of the 397 issues traded, 169 closed higher, 182 ended lower, and 46 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
Linde Bangladesh was the most-traded stock with shares worth Tk 423.21 million changing hands, followed by Sonali Aansh Industries, Grameenphone, Agni Systems, and Orion Infusion.
The CSE declined as its All Share Price Index (CASPI) lost 21.30 points to settle at 16119 and the Selective Categories Index (CSCX) fell 12.55 points to settle at 9717. The port city bourse traded 1.69 million shares and mutual fund units with a turnover volume of Tk 58.38 billion.
