Dengue claims one more life, 486 hospitalized

One more dengue patients died while 486 people admitted to the hospital across the country with the viral fever in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.

With the update, this year, the total number of cases rose to 18, 075 while 107 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
At least 24 patients died and some 6,234 people have been infected with this mosquito-borne disease in the last 15 days, which showed the increasing trend of dengue.

Among the fresh dengue patients, 233 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 46 in Barishal division while 79 in Chattogram division, 77 in Dhaka (out of city corporation), 39 in Khulna division, 3 in Rajshahi division, and 9 in Rangpur division.

Besides, 16,987 patients have released from the hospitals.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
