Two teenage boys were killed and another was injured after a motorcycle collided with a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj district on Friday.
The accident took place around 7:00pm in Somvupur Pakkar area on the Bhairab-Mymensingh regional highway in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Sufol Miah, son of Sopon Miah, a resident of Bhairab Bus Stand area in the upazila, and Asaduzzaman Munna, son of Atauallah Miah, a resident of Gastola Ghat area in Bhairab municipality.
The injured is Borno, son of Arafat Miah, a resident of the municipality.
Family members and police said that Sufol, Munna, and Borno set out on Friday afternoon on a motorcycle for a visit. Their motorcycle collided with a CNG-rum auto rickshaw, coming from the opposite direction, while they were returning to Bhairab. The trio then fell from the motorcycle and were crushed under a truck, leaving them critically injured.
They were rescued and taken to a hospital in Bhairab where they received initial treatment.
Sufol and Munna were later transferred to a hospital in Dhaka where they succumbed to their injuries around 10:00PM.
Borno is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Md Sazu Miah, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station, said that the bodies have been handed over to the deceased's family members.
Legal procedures are under process in this regard, the OC added.
