The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has said that heavy to very heavy rainfalls to occur in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Landslide may occur in Chattogram division due to the heavy rainfall, according to the met office bulletin on Thursday morning.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places overDhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisionswith moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions."
The bulletin also said as the monsoon is active over Bangladesh, parts of the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may see heavy (44-88 mm of rain in a 24-hour period) to very heavy rain (over 88 mm in 24 hours).
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No 3.
