The interim government has decided to turn Ganabhaban into the 'July Uprising Memorial Museum' to preserve the memories of genocide happened in the month of July this year.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held on Thursday evening.

Youth and Sports adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan stated it at a post-cabinet meeting press conference at Foreign Service Academy in the capital at about 7:00pm on Thursday (September 5).

He said Ganabhaban would remain in a state as it is now. It means that the government would turn it into a museum without any major changes to it.
