Wicket-keeper batter Litton Das has reached a career-high ranking following his outstanding 138-run innings, which played a crucial role in Bangladesh's six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the second Test, thereby securing a 2-0 series sweep.

In the latest ICC rankings released Wednesday, Litton Das has climbed to 15th place with 688 rating points, marking his highest position ever among Bangladeshi batters. Senior batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 191 in Bangladesh's dominant 10-wicket win in the first Test, is ranked 17th with 675 rating points.

The historic series win has propelled Bangladesh to fourth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, based on percentage points. This success has also led to notable gains for several Bangladeshi players in the latest ICC Test rankings.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who played a vital role with 78 runs and a crucial 165-run partnership with Litton in the second Test, has moved up 10 spots to 75th place among batters. His five-wicket haul for 61 in the first innings has boosted his ranking from 23rd to 22nd among bowlers and elevated him to 7th position among all-rounders.

Bangladesh’s pace bowlers have also seen significant improvements. Hasan Mahmud has advanced 16 places to 57th with 367 rating points, while Taskin Ahmed has moved up 11 positions to 85th with 264 rating points. Promising young fast bowler Nahid Rana, who impressed with his pace, has climbed 23 spots to 97th with 225 rating points.

In other rankings news, England’s Joe Root has solidified his position at the top of the batting rankings after scoring centuries in both innings of the second Test against Sri Lanka at Lord’s. His innings of 143 and 103 have earned him an additional 41 rating points, widening his lead over Kane Williamson to 63 points.

New Zealand’s Darryl Mitchell, Australia’s Steve Smith, and England’s Harry Brook occupy the third to fifth positions in the Test batting rankings, followed by India’s Rohit Sharma, Yashaswi Jaiswal, and Virat Kohli.
