Teenager killed in Kishoreganj lightning

A teenage boy was killed in a lightning strike while fishing in Kishoreganj's Ashtagram on Wednesday.

The accident took place at around 7:30 am at Bahadurpur Haor under Kastul Union of the upazila.
The dead was Jahangir Alam, 17, son of Arjud Ali, of Aarpar village under Ashtagram Sadar Union.

According to locals, Jahangir and his brother-in-law Haris went fishing from at Kastul Haor. Haris got into the water and hoisted the net, while Jahangir sat on the boat and controlled it. At around 7:30 am, it suddenly started raining and thundering. At that time, Jahangir fell from the boat due to lightning and disappeared in the water.

Later, other fishermen and relatives searched and recovered Jahangir's body.
