Bata workers stage demo blocking Dhaka-M'singh highway

Bata Shoe Company Bangladesh Limited employees started protest in front of the factory, blocking Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.

Since 6AM on Monday, the workers took position near the factory gate to press home their eight-point demands, halting production.

Following the protest, some parts of the highway were blocked.

They also demanded resignation of assistant HR manager Enamul Haque, Dhamrai branch assistant HR manager Salauddin Ahmed and Humayun Ahmed.

Their demands includes increase in salary, monthly salaries instead of weekly payments and stopping termination of workers.
